Temperature & Humidity Tracker for Mushroom Cultivation

Temperature and humidity play an important role if not the most in making sure your mushroom cultivation is a success. Since you can grow different types of mushrooms and they can be in different growth stage, you can set several AirComfort in several rooms.

Edible mushroom cultivation goes through several stages: Phase 1 composting, Phase 2 composting, spawning, casing, casing, pinning, and cropping. In relation to this, indoor growing requires providing proper light, growing media, and optimal climatic conditions to ensure maximum yield. While mushrooms grow best in a warm and humid climate, the temperature and humidity level ideal for them highly depends on its growth stage and mushroom type.

It is important to have a sensor that can track both humidity and temperature inside the cultivation room to avoid issues:

  • High temperature with high humidity, oyster mushrooms may develop small, lighter coloured caps with a depression in the middle
  • High temperature with low humidity causes the caps to become thin, brittle and umbrella-shaped with a thick stipe/mushroom stem
  • Low temperature with high humidity causes strong colour and strong fruiting bodies, but in reduced numbers
  • Low temperatures with low humidity levels causes a dark-coloured cap and thick or swollen stipe and fewer fruiting bodies

Just as mentioned above, temperature and humidity play an important role if not the most in making sure your mushroom cultivation is a success. With AirComfort you can set the min and max value of both temperature and humidity and on the App, you can see if the values are below or beyond the proper range. Since you can grow different types of mushrooms and they can be in different growth stage, you can set several AirComfort in several rooms. With AirComfort App you can sync as many AirComfort devices as you want and track them on one App.

  • Oyster mushroom thrives in temperature of 55-60 degrees, and 80% humidity.
  • Button mushrooms, temperature of 75-77 degrees Fahrenheit for mycelium growth then once the mycelium is fully formed temperature range should be 53-60 degrees & 90% for air humidity level.
  • For straw mushrooms it’s 95 degrees wherein growth can occur between 59-113. Humidity must be at 80% and increased to 90% when fruiting bodies starts to grow.
